Accessibility

Anthem Insurance Group wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or rely on magnification or high-contrast settings.

What we aim for

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the standard the U.S. Department of Justice refers to when it applies the Americans with Disabilities Act to websites.

Where the site stands

This site was reviewed and updated in August 2026. That work included:

• A skip to main content link, so keyboard users can get past the navigation
• Proper page landmarks, so screen reader users can jump straight to the main content, the navigation, or the footer
• A visible outline showing where you are as you move through the page with the Tab key
• Text and buttons adjusted so they meet the required contrast against their background
• Real labels on every contact form field, with errors announced rather than shown only in colour
• A clear confirmation when a message has been sent, so you are never left guessing whether the form worked
• Descriptive alternative text on images
• Pinch-to-zoom re-enabled on phones and tablets
• Our partner logo carousel made operable by keyboard, and set to stop moving when you tab into it or when your device asks for reduced motion
• Our mobile menu made fully keyboard operable, including closing with the Escape key

The site was tested with automated accessibility tooling across every page template, at both desktop and phone sizes, and with a keyboard walkthrough in a real browser. Last reviewed 21 August 2026. We review it again periodically, and after any significant change to the site.

Being straight with you about the limits

Accessibility is not a box that gets ticked once. We test with automated tools and with keyboard navigation, and we review the information that screen readers are given — but we have not tested this site with people who use screen readers day to day. If something does not work for you, that is worth telling us about, and it is not your fault.

Some material on the site is outside our direct control, such as content embedded from other companies. We will do what we can where that affects you.
